Terry
"Moose"
Millard

After forty years of experience leading people in high performance environments, Terry Moose Millard is convinced organizational success always depends on the people.  He believes that Jim Collins was absolutely right in his book Good to Great when he said, people are not your most important asset-the right people are.  Through his 20 year Air Force flying career, and the next fifteen years at Southwest Airlines, he became deeply immersed in developing high performance-high spirited cultures, first as a fighter squadron commander and then as a check airman, employee advocate, and supervisor at Southwest Airlines.

With a bachelor's degree in business and a master's degree in human resource management, Moose has been helping companies achieve success since 1990.  His focus in consulting and speaking engagements has been on maximum employee engagement, colossal customer care, and high performance-high spirited cultures.  As a result of his experience, expertise, and speaking style, Moose has become a popular nationally known speaker on those topics.

Since the Institute for Healthcare Improvement 100,000 lives campaign in 2005, he has focused increasing attention on applying lessons from other industries to the healthcare arena in a crusade to improve patient outcomes, employee satisfaction, and healthcare safety.  His own 17 year adventure with cancer has provided a wealth of patient perspective experience.  His relationship with PeopleInk and CareLeaders allows him to work with highly skilled and experienced professionals in both the healthcare and human resources fields.

Terry Moose Millard is perfectly comfortable with both of his names, but prefers to keep the exact origins of his nickname shrouded in the mists of history.
